What it is
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid, usually called BHA. Unlike water-loving humectants, it is oil-soluble, which is why it is used in pore and blemish-care products.
What it does
It helps loosen dead skin and oil inside the pore, making it useful for blackheads, clogged texture, and recurring breakouts. In K-beauty it often appears in cleansers, toners, pads, and spot-care formulas.
How to use it
Start once or twice a week in a leave-on product, or use a gentle BHA cleanser if your skin is easily irritated. Follow with moisturizer and daily sunscreen.
Good to know
Can dry or irritate skin if overused. Avoid stacking with retinoids and other exfoliating acids until your skin is comfortable.
