  • Oily
  • Combination
  • Acne-Prone

Targets

  • Acne
  • Pores
  • Redness

What it is

Tea tree leaf extract comes from Melaleuca alternifolia. It is not the same as using undiluted tea tree essential oil; in skincare, it is usually folded into toners, pads, gels, and spot-care products.

What it does

It is used to make oily, blemish-prone skin feel cleaner and calmer. It will not replace proven acne treatments for everyone, but it can be useful in a routine that needs light sebum and redness support.

How to use it

Use tea tree products selectively: after cleansing, on the T-zone, or on days when skin feels congested. Balance it with soothing hydration so the routine doesn't become stripping.

Good to know

Tea tree can be irritating in strong or essential-oil-heavy formulas. Sensitive skin should start with gentle, diluted products and patch-test.
