The ginseng is not a theme laid over a generic menu. The spa belongs to Donginbi, the skincare line that grew out of the Cheong Kwan Jang red-ginseng business, and its signature course is built on the same material.
About: Spa 1899 is on the second basement level of KT&G Tower, at 416 Yeongdong-daero in Gangnam-gu, about nine minutes on foot from Exit 2 of Samseong Station on Line 2.
It is run by Donginbi, the skincare line that grew out of the Cheong Kwan Jang red-ginseng business, and its treatments are built on that red ginseng. The signature course, Red Ginseng Energy Circulation Therapy, is the spa's own. Around it sit single-focus programmes of an hour each — facial, body or foot — multi-care courses of two to two and a half hours, and a three-hour full peeling.
Parking is free for guests. Published opening hours differ between the operator's own page and the tourism listing, so confirm the last appointment when you book.
